Inguinal Hernia Repair
Inguinal Hernia Repair
Placement of a very soft and light mesh (folded) around the left spermatic cord structures Inguinal Hernia Repair
Lateral aspect of the mesh ready for fixation on the groin muscles
Final control before removing the instruments. Medial view
Holding stitch retrieved allowing opening of the anatomical mesh
Anatomical mesh fully opened and placed in position against the abdominal wall. The softness of the mesh is crucial to obtain a perfect contact with the muscles
Lateral aspect of the mesh fixed against the muscles with fibrin glue. No other fixation is used in order to minimise the risk of chronic post-operative pain
Mesh fixation completed, creating a smooth ‘wrapping’ of the spermatic cord structures and without any tension
Fixation with fibrin glue continued on the medial aspect of the mesh towards the pubis
Free inferior flap lifted up creating a generous mesh overlap and also secured with fibrin glue
Final control before removing the instruments. Lateral view
